The 401(k) Optimizer® is an automated online tool designed to assist individuals, like you, with allocating the investment options in your company-sponsored 401(k), 403(b) or 457 plans. The system uses your risk tolerance and long-term goals to generate portfolio allocation recommendations and will recommend changes to make to your investment strategy based on your plan’s investment options and market fluctuations.

MAXIMUM OPTIMIZATION

The technology behind the 401(k) Optimizer®, one of Howard Capital Management, Inc.’s (HCM) proprietary systems, is designed with you, the investor, in mind.  This tool is non-emotional and repeatable and in addition to assisting with your account allocation, offers downside risk management through HCM’s signature stoploss risk management tool, the HCM-BuyLine®.  By indicating when it may be time to move your investments to cash or a more conservative investment, you will no longer have to let the fear of a market downturn hold you back.

BENEFITS

Take advantage of all of the benefits offered by the 401(k) Optimizer®:

  • Technology that ensures your portfolio is consistently being monitored
  • Notifications when it is recommended to make a change, update or re-balance
  • Additional resources like the Optimized Trend Indicator® (OTI) tool which allows you to check the performance of any single stock
  • Overlaying investments with HCM’s signature stoploss risk management tool, the HCM-BuyLine® to manage your risk in a market downturn
  • Detailed instructions for any action steps, delivered straight to your inbox
HOW DOES IT WORK?

Begin your account set up by visiting the 401(k) Optimizer® website and selecting the option that best applies to you.  As you move through the process, you will be asked to take a risk tolerance questionnaire to determine your current investing personality.  Your answers will let the tool know how much risk you are comfortable with given your age, financial goals, and investment timeline.

The system will then prompt you to upload your employer’s plan so that it can perform an in-depth analysis of your plan’s options.  Once complete, it will generate a personalized investment recommendation on how to appropriately allocate your portfolio.

Each quarter, you will receive an update on how you may want to re-balance or reallocate your portfolio, or if it is best to leave it untouched.  Based on these recommendations, you will then be able to login to your financial institution, or call your advisor, and make any necessary changes.

You can find additional details regarding the 401(k) Optimizer® and how it can work for you on the 401(k) Optimizer® website and brochure.

Howard Capital Management, Inc. may maintain long or short positions in the financial instruments referred to and may transact in them as principal or agent. Unless stated specifically otherwise, this is not a recommendation, offer or solicitation to buy or sell and any prices or quotations contained herein are indicative only. Our proprietary indicator, the HCM-BuyLine®, identified changes in the market trend. Buys and sells may or may not have occurred on the exact dates shown. These dates do not necessarily reflect transactions applied to every individual account. Also, certain products, custodians and portfolios may have a delay in execution. When the HCM-BuyLine® indicates a bull market, HCM then identifies the particular mutual funds, ETFs or individual stocks that we believe have the best return potentials in the current market from the universe of assets available in each given program and invests in them. When the HCM-BuyLine® indicates a bear market, HCM moves clients’ investments to less risky alternatives. Not every HCM-BuyLine® buy and sell will result in a profitable trade. There will be times when following the indicator results in a loss. However, there have been situations in the past in which HCM reduced clients’ exposure to equities during market downturns by following an HCM-BuyLine® signal, thereby preserving capital.
